Caden Grice

caden_grice_4.jpgcaden_grice_3.jpgNew!  In Greek mythology the Titans were a family of giants who ruled the earth for a period of time. The Greenville Titans aren't ruling the baseball world, at least not yet, but they are having their way with most 10U teams they step on the field with. One player who has helped the Titans reach the well-deserved ranking is Caden Grice, a southpaw hurler and hitter. He is a "giant" of a prospect with an advanced skill set not characteristic of many at this young age. He'll step into the JrDP Spotlight for a Q and A...next. To view, click here

RockSolid'11

rock_solid.jpgNew! Junior Diamond Prospects saw our share of games in just about every corner of the state in 2011. It was not an easy task but our area scouts have compiled an elite list of players who stood out among the competition with JrDP in attendance. It took a search of our archives and jrdp_logo.pngsome extensive evaluation of the individual skills of each prospect we saw but we managed to compile a list of players that is sure to be making headlines across the Palmetto State for some time to come. See who made the cut in our "Rock Solid" feature from 2011. To view, click here.

Osment

christopher_osment_5.jpgchristopher_osment_2.jpgOur annual F-all Stars player rankings start at age 11. If we were to rank those in the younger ages, Christopher Osment of the Simpsonville Stars would certainly make that list. Our first spotlight feature of 2012 takes us into the land of "Ozzie" and face to face with the head wizard. You don't want to miss this interview with one of the more accomplished hurlers at his age in the upstate. Catch it here in our Junior Diamond Spotlight. To view, click here.

FallStars '11

stars2.gifThe ball in Times Square has closed out the last chapter of 2011. For us at JrDP, that means it's time to unveil our annual player rankings. JrDP's Scouting Director, Richard Edwards, takes this opportunity during the holidays away from the ballpark to evaluate the players he has seen perform in person and rank the top performers by age (11-14). The Junior Diamond Prospects "F-All Stars" are coming your way just in time for the New Year. For more, click here.

Coast2Coast

coast_to_coast_baseball_2011.jpgCoast to Coast Baseball is a national organization that was formed in 1999 with the purpose of providing young amateurs with a taste of what it is like to play the game at its highest level. One of the fine young players from the Midlands, Joseph Conti, had the opportunity to fly to Arizona this month and participate with some of the top players from all parts of the country in the Coast to Coast program. Our JrDP feature describes what he experienced daily in the Grand Canyon State. To view, click here.

ECCOC

east_coast_clash_of_champions_2011.jpgThe sun and sand of Myrtle Beach were replaced with line drives and curve balls this weekend as teams travelled to the coast to face off in the final U.S.S.S.A. tournament in South Carolina of the year, the East Coast Clash of Champions. Find out who brought home the hardware for the last time this season in the 13U Silver Division, all in our Junior Diamond Recap. For more, click here.

Bundy

adrian_bundy.jpgadrian_bundy_2.jpgYou might ask why we would feature an 8 year old in the Junior Diamond Spotlight? Well, this is not your typical 8 year old. Adrian Bundy started playing travel ball when he was five and now plays at age eight for both the 9U and 10U Big Leaguers Kudzu from the Columbia area. Those are not typos, folks. This Mighty Mite knows and loves the game of baseball and is not intimidated by older opponents. This ranks as one of the best conversations we have ever had and you can catch it right here in the Jr. Diamond Spotlight. To view, click here.

F'throwers

flames.jpgAny pitcher with the God-given ability to throw a high velocity fastball can be said to be able to really throw the pill, to have a good heater, to throw ched, to deliver a good hummer, to throw gas, to really bring it. Well, you get the idea. Over the past several years, Junior Diamond Prospects has put the gun on many a young arm and we are pleased to present the top all-time "Flamethrowers" we have clocked by age division. For more, click here.

Velocity
